Stereotype Worksheet and Activity
Purpose: To make students aware of the prejudice around them and in them.
Materials: "Stereotype Worksheet"
1) Split the class up into two sections based on a physical feature.
2) Have both sides of the the class fill out the worksheet.
3) Discuss what names were paired up with each career.
a) Do not allow on side of the class share their opinion.
i) This is to illustrate segregation and prejudice.
4) During the discussion, ask the talking side of the class whether or not they want to hear what the other side of the class has to say.
a) The hope is that the talking side will allow the other side to share their ideas.
i) Essentially it is up to the students to desegregate the class.
